Your safety is
our priority
CardRadar is built with privacy and safety at its core. We help you connect with collectors while protecting your personal information.
How we keep you safe
Multiple layers of protection built into every feature
Approximate Location Only
We never share your exact address. All locations shown on the map are approximated to a general area, protecting your privacy while still enabling local discovery.
Privacy Controls
You control what others see. Hide your collection, wishlist, or location at any time. Choose who can message you and how visible you are on the map.
Likes-Based Reputation
Collectors can like other collectors to build their reputation. The more likes you receive, the more trusted you become in the community.
Verified Collectors
Pro members can earn the Verified Collector badge by being active in the community. Look for the badge to identify trusted community members.
Safe Meetup Locations
When arranging in-person trades, we suggest safe, public locations like card shops. Our Stores feature shows verified shops as safe meetup spots.
Report Suspicious Activity
Report scams and suspicious activity in our Trade Safety & Scam Alerts Room. Our community helps keep everyone safe.
No public home addresses. Ever.
When you set your location in CardRadar, we intentionally blur it to a general area. Other collectors see you're "in Columbus, OH" or "near Tokyo" — never your exact address.
This means you can discover nearby collectors and be discovered, all without compromising your actual location. When you're ready to trade, you choose where to meet.
We suggest safe, public meetup spots like local card shops, coffee shops, or even police station parking lots for high-value trades.
What collectors see:
"Near Columbus, OH (~5 miles)"
Never shown:
Your exact address or precise coordinates
Location data is encrypted and never sold to third parties
Safe trading best practices
Follow these tips to have a safe and successful trading experience
Meet in Public
Always meet in well-lit, public places with other people around. Card shops (check our Stores on the Map) are great safe meetup locations.
Tell Someone
Let a friend or family member know where you're going and who you're meeting. Share your location if possible.
Check Likes
Before meeting, review the collector's profile and like count. More likes from other collectors = more trustworthy.
Verify Cards
For high-value trades, verify card authenticity before completing the trade. Bring a loupe or reference guides.
Trust Your Gut
If something feels off, it probably is. Don't hesitate to cancel or reschedule a meetup if you're uncomfortable.
Report Issues
If you experience any problems, report them in our Trade Safety & Scam Alerts Room. The community helps keep everyone safe.
